Happy, Merry, Freakin Earth Day. Hippies
Well in case you did'nt know and I know you didn't or else you would have taken the day off because this Sunday, March 22nd 2007 is Earth Day. What's Earth Day you ask? Well dumbass it ovoulslly a day which you celebrate the earth and the resources and blah, blah, blah. The holiday nobody really cares about because its not comerciallized and I could care less about it myself. So you are probably wondering where the hell i'm going with this well since I half-ass care about the earth I have ONE thing to blame for this if it was'nt for it I would all for dumping toxic waste in the ocean and all that, but the one thing that change my life forever is.....Captain Planet.

Yea Captain Planet, who now dont get me wrong for its time had a awesome theme song, a diverse mix of characters, at least 3 messages per episode (1 in the main story and 2 mini how to help your enviroment crap), crazy super villians, and the GAYEST costume ever created for a superhero.
HERES THE DESCRIPTION I GOT FROM THE TURNER WEBSITE ABOUT HIS COSTUME
"Captain Planet only appears in his Captain Planet garb. These are not clothes but elements of the Earth that are integral to his composition. He is able to rearrange his molecular structure to transform himself into the various powers and elements of nature, e.g., water, wind, fire, ice, etc. Captain Planet's outfit does not represent a specific culture. He has grass-green hair, sky-blue skin, earthy brown eyes, blood-red chest, gloves and boots, and sunlight-yellow insignia/globe. The globe on his chest sometimes flickers and turns gray when he is losing power or is exposed to high levels of pollution."
LAME.
The 5 annoying kids had more personnality than the hero, but every story was this format:
Pollution by some super villian, planeteers go investagate, fight bad guys, lose to bad guys, call on Captain Planet, Captain Planet gets hurt/polluted, one of the planeteers throws water or dirt on him he gets better and saves the day.
The End
CAPTAIN PLANET INTRO AND OUTRO
But Captain Planet wasn't the only enviromental hero of 1991. Not by far, but he was the most memorible thanks to Ted Turner. The Toxic Crusaders led by the Toxic Avenger a nerdy janitor who got thrown into some toxic waste and became a super powerful super ugly superhero. It was based on the 1986 B-movie that was cheaply made, gorey, and had a huge cult following. He fought a alien race in the cartoon that thrived off of pollution so it was really surreal. The Toxic Avenger had a mop with a mind of its own and a girl who was blind I wish I was making this up but I am not his crusaders were,

NoZone a former pilot who flew through a hole in the Ozone layer and crashed into a silo of radioactive pepper, known for his powerful sneezes. Junkyard was a hobo who took shelter in a kennel with a guard dog in a polluted junkyard, which was covered in toxic waste when lightning struck it and merged them together. Headbanger is a fusion of two opposing personalities into a conjoined body - the cantankerous mad scientist, Fender and the surfer-like, singing telegram boy responsible for the accident, Bender. Finally, Major Disaster, who had the ability to control plants after falling into a radioactive swamp.
TOXIC CRUSADERS INTRO
The whole purpose of this blog is to educate you on how 1991 cartoons kicked ass and had a great message if it was not all rings shoot fire, toxic waste will give you super powers, pollution is bad tell your parents to stop, whatever. Both of these shows were fun had kick ass guitar solos in the intro, action figures came with plenty of suff you could lose or choke on (i.e. Toxie's mop or a planeteer ring) So with this knowledge of useless info and time wasting video go out this Earth Day and burn some gas, barbeque on the old charcoal grill, and take a hour long shower in the name of earth day cause we might as well use it while we have it.

EUROPEAN VACATION
starring
J DILLA, FRANK N DANK,
Dj Rhettmatic & Dave NY
+
DVD + CD / SUMMER 2007 RELEASE
In November 2005 Europe was exposed to one of the greatest Hip Hip shows to ever hit
European soil when the J Dilla tour landed featuring none other than long time Dilla Detroit
comrades Frank N Dank and Phat Kat plus DJ Rhettmatic. Nothing short of mass hysteria
followed - Blunts, stunts, jokes, good music and history in the making is what went down. Such
a spectacle can never be repeated. Witness an exclusive behind the scenes look at what it's
like going on the road with a legend! Experience the last tour J Dilla would grace his fans with
from the inside. Hear the music, see the moments and feel the vibe as we take you on a
journey to where Hip Hop is alive, well and kickin'. Welcome to Frank N Dank's European
Vacation.

THE F.D.R PROJECT
In 2007, Frank N Dank teamed up with Young RJ Rice to form a group known as The FDR
Project under their newly formed record label “For Da Record,” both utilizing the first initial of
each of their names; Frank, Dank and RJ. Each of these men studied under the renowned J
Dilla decided to unite because, “…we appreciate music the same way,” says Young RJ. “We
wanted to be able to put out stuff that we believed in.”
The first project slated for production on For Da Record is a DVD titled Frank N Dank’s
European Vacation, which will come packaged with a 5 or 6 track EP featuring work from the
members of The FDR Project. The DVD and EP will include the last performances from J Dilla
and Frank N Dank. Young RJ is overseeing production of both the DVD and musical portions
of the project. The highly anticipated Frank N Dank’s European Vacation will be released
Summer of 2007.
YOUNG RJ BIO
Detroit’s Ralph “Young RJ” Rice was raised around music. With both parents traveling for his fathers
group, R.J.’s Latest Arrival, it seems only obvious he would adopt creating music as a craft. Yet, Young
RJ did not immediately take an interest. “Music was just normal to me because it was what my parents
did.” It was not until later that he would be influenced by the classic Motown style and try his hand at
producing a sound of his own.
At the age of 14, Young RJ picked up a paper route as his first job. After an accident on his moped while
delivering papers resulted in a concussion, RJ turned in his paper route for studio time. He began
attending the studio regularly to spend time with his father and started making his first beats. By age 15,
RJ had sold his first beat to Kurupt of tha Dogg Pound, who coined the handle “Young RJ” for the
talented young man. Young RJ’s prodigal ear for music became evident as he gained experience
repairing beats and began working with J Dilla to perfect his growing skill.Having established himself behind the scenes, Young RJ produced for Slum Village’s third release, Trinity- Past, Present and Future, (Barak/Capitol). The album was released in August of 2002, resulting in
Young RJ attaining his first album production credits just after graduating high school. Following that
effort, he became the main producer for Slum Village’s subsequent albums, Detroit Deli - A Taste of
Detroit, (Barak/Capitol) released in 2004 and their 2005 self-titled release, Slum Village, (Barak). In
addition, Young RJ’s work can be found on Slum Village - Dirty District, vol. 1, (2002, Barak), Dirty
District, vol. 2, (2004, Barak) and Dirty District, vol. 3, (2006, Barak).
Young RJ’s masterful attention to sound and infinitely mature work ethic has granted him opportunities to
work with a variety of established artists. After spending time on tour with D12 as the sound engineer for
the “D12 World” tour, he went on to produce the hit single, “Girls Wit Da Boom” for the late Proof of D12,
(October 2, 1973 –, April 11, 2006). On Lloyd Banks of G-Unit’s Rotten Apple, (G-Unit Records, 2006)
Young RJ produced “Survival,” considered one of the best tracks on the album. His most recent
production can be found on Young Buck of G-Unit’s latest single, “Push ‘Em Back” from the Buck The
World, (G-Unit / Interscope) released March 2007 and currently getting airplay on stations across the
nation.
Young RJ has also produced tracks for song artists Ray-J and Dwele, demonstrating his versatility. His
meticulous attention to the sound of each instrument during production gives his tracks a fullness that is
difficult to match. “I like doing music because it’s like a puzzle. You start with the outside part and then
you have to fill it in.”

Frank N Dank Biography
Raised by Hip Hop in the music and culture rich city of Detroit, Frank Bush and Derrick “Dank” Harvey
are what happens when passion turns project. Frank N Dank met in 1984 when Frank moved into the
neighborhood where dank resided on the east side of Detroit. Sharing the ability to break-dance and an
undying love for Hip-Hop, the two immediately became friends. As middle school age children, they
united and would compete in Hip-Hop breakin’ battles against other neighborhood crews on Saturday
nights. “We were hip-hop kids,” Frank says. “Hip Hop has always been a part of my thing. It was that,
Prince and Michael Jackson.”
Considered the weird kids in high school, Frank, Dank and best friend James “J-Dilla” Yancey (February
7, 1974 – February 10, 2006), continued to invest their free time into Hip Hop. They were apart of many
formations of Hip-Hop, DJ and Breaker groups until finally being labeled Frank N Dank by J Dilla. Over
the next few years their Hip-Hop hobby grew into a craft; with Frank moving from breakin’ to DJing and
rhyming and Dank perfecting his rhyming skills.
It was in 1999 that Frank N Dank would have their first 12” vinyls released on Fat Beats, both with one
song on each side; Me And My Man / Love (A Thing Of The Past) and Everybody Get Up! / Give It Up pt II
were produced by J Dilla. In 2000, Frank N Dank signed a recording deal with MCA records but released
no records. In the midst of the major labels’ collapse, Frank N Danks’ prospective MCA release, 48 hours
was continuously pushed back and eventually appeared as a bootleg LP in 2003 after they were granted
release from MCA record.
After a host of successful singles, touring with J Dilla across the US, London, Japan, Germany, Paris and
Amsterdam, and attaining tour dates alongside Tribe Called Quest, The Roots, Slum Village, Common,
Ludacris and Wyclef Jean, Frank N Dank released their first official debut X-tended Play Version 3.13 in
2006. The album featured 13 tracks that Frank n Dank described as soul music for players, including an
intimate track titled MCA that outlined their frustration with trying to release an album on a label that was
falling apart.
Twenty years of camaraderie, commitment and passion for hip-hop have made Frank n Dank arguably
one of the most well meshed hip-hop dyads. Armed with straight-forward, uninhibited lyrics and an
abundance of experience in the studio and on the acrid streets of Detroit, Frank N Dank have developed
credibility amongst both their peers and followers. “I just talk about my experiences in this city,” Dank
reveals. “My music is a by-product of my life.”

THE IMUS INCIDENT APRIL 4
Ok I not gonna harp on about this cause its old...
"hard-core hos", "nappy headed hos", and "jiggaboos" now working in radio myself there are things you can and can't say and ho is one those words if we play a unedited song with vulgar language we get fined the same goes if we say the "N" word or if callers say the "N" word. Now what Don Imus said was racist and sexist and really uncalled for, with his co-host or hosts saying its a "spike Lee Thing" the tone of their voices says it all really as they were just being themselves and had no regard for the girls feeling by saying such lude comments or the fact that they wont get fined. Its sad really, a 15 sec. apology and a two week suspension is all the punishment this grown man gets and its getting old. With Kramer, Mel, and Imus and co. using freedom of speech rightfully need to be more careful about their lude comments and being a black man in america I know a lot of artists say ho and what not to degrade our women and ourselves, but that tired and old excuse for people they get over it no celeb. can speak for a entire race Whatever... stuff like this makes me ashamed to call myself a human being considering its 2007 and we seem to be going backwards in society.

Ok im gonna try and do these video tributes once a week and for this week I choose to spotlight Rappin 4 Tay. Not only does his new album drop today, but aparently he is STILL ALIVE! I swear I thought he was dead. So for those how dont know about him here is a brief bio on him that I snatched from wikipedia.com.
Rappin' 4-Tay (born Anthony Forté on March 2, 1968) is an American rapper from San Francisco, California best known for the track "Playaz Club" from his 1994 album Don't Fight the Feeling. He debuted on the Too $hort album Life Is...Too Short but soon after the album release, 4-Tay was arrested on drug charges. After his sentence was completed Rappin' 4-Tay Is Back!!! 1992), followed by "Don't fight the feeling" Which produced such hits as "I'll Be around, Playaz club and She's a sell out. Also most notably the track "Dank Season", featuring Frankie J Fly. While the albums won him a devoted fanbase, especially in the San Francisco area, his mainstream success was scarce, although he was featured in 2Pac's genius track "Only God Can Judge Me" on Book One of the All Eyez On Me album. In 1995 (see 1995 in music), 4-Tay released I'll Be Around, then Off Parole (1996, 1996 in music), 4 tha Hard Way (1997, 1997 in music), Introduction to the Mackin (1999, 1999 in music), and the re-release of Off Parole (2002, 2002 in music)). Gangsta Gumbo was released in 2003.

Do The Right Thing
Do The Right Thing = DTRT

A classic movie that came out in 1989 I was four years old when this came out and had way more interest with ninja turtles than racial issues. With the release of the DTRT Jordan III this Saturday I wanted to the watch the movie that inspired the shoe from start to finish since the last time I watched it was on VHS. Even though the poster for the movie and MARS (Spike Lee) Blackman the only inspiration. So I decided spend Easter Sunday morning watching this movie and the first thing I notice is the camera work, the imagery in this movie is absolutely perfect. Any and every scene can be paused and admired like the work of art it is. The movie, just like the shoe, has aged well considering clothing, music, and conversations have changed...somewhat since clothing has recycled and whats old is new, and music "Fight the Power" by Public Enemy which samples at least two James Brown songs, (yea people have been biting since the 80's not just Kanye) is played heard at least on fifteen separate occasions in the movie, lastly the conversations are all the same throughout life. I know alot of people like the three men on the corner crackin jokes, Mother Sister, Buggin' Out, Pino, and Mookie so the movie has a personal feel to it since I can relate to alot of the characters.

Here are my top five fav. quotes frome DTRT
1. Radio Raheem: "Let me tell you the story of "Right Hand, Left Hand." It's a tale of good and evil. Hate: It was with this hand that Cane iced his brother. Love: These five fingers, they go straight to the soul of man. The right hand: the hand of love. The story of life is this: Static. One hand is always fighting the other hand; and the left hand is kicking much ass. I mean, it looks like the right hand, Love, is finished. But, hold on, stop the presses, the right hand is coming back. Yeah, he got the left hand on the ropes, now, that's right. Ooh, it's the devastating right and Hate is hurt, he's down. Left-Hand Hate K.O.ed by Love."
2. Sweet Dick Willie: "Man you out yo mind?! It aint never too hot or never too cold for fuckin!"
3. Mister Senor Love Daddy: "My people, my people, what can I say, say what I can. I saw it but didn't believe it, I didn't believe what I saw. Are we gonna live together, together are we gonna live?"
4: Pino: "You gold-teeth-gold-chain-wearin', fried-chicken-and-biscuit-eatin', monkey, ape, baboon, big thigh, fast-runnin', three-hundred-sixty-degree-basketball-dunkin' spade Moulan Yan."
5: Buggin' Out: "Hey, Sal, how come they ain't no brothas on the wall?"
Honorable Mentions:
"Violence as a way of achieving racial justice is both impractical and immoral. It is impractical because it is a descending spiral ending in destruction for all. The old law of an eye for an eye leaves everybody blind. It is immoral because it seeks to humiliate the opponent rather than win his understanding; it seeks to annihilate rather than to convert. Violence is immoral because it thrives on hatred rather than love. It destroys a community and makes brotherhood impossible. It leaves society in monologue rather than dialogue. Violence ends by defeating itself. It creates bitterness in the survivors and brutality in the destroyers."
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
"I think there are plenty of good people in America, but there are also plenty of bad people in America and the bad ones are the ones who seem to have all the power and be in these positions to block things that you and I need. Because this is the situation, you and I have to preserve the right to do what is necessary to bring an end to that situation, and it doesn't mean that I advocate violence, but at the same time I am not against using violence in self-defense. I don't even call it violence when it's self-defense, I call it intelligence."
- Malcolm X
I think its weird that decied to do a DTRT colorway for the Jordan III instead of the Jordan IV since that is the shoe Buggin' Out was wearing in the movie, but whatever, later this year the Jordan Brand will be releasing the DTRT Spizike's no release date has been announced as of yet.

So Captain America is Dead???

Well to the the rest of the world yes, but the REAL Captain America was black, thats right the real one was a "colored" who undergone experiments for the supersoldier serum that turned skinny Steve Rogers into a muscle bound war machine.
Read Isaiah Bradley's story HERE
Oh yeah he had a son!

Read Josiah X's story HERE. He was in the Vietnam war , was a member of the Black Panther Party, and is Muslim minister. He can't get any blacker if he tried!

Allow me to reintroduce myself...
My name is Dj Young Venom a.k.a. Venom a.k.a. Y.V. I'm a Dj, intern, asshole, blah, blah, blah, etc. Seriously its pointless to try to sum myself up in this blog much less nobody out there will actually read it. So if you don't know me it's your fault because with myspace, facebook, and now this senseless blog there is no excuse.
I titled this blog "The Last Son of the Native Tongues" because they are hip hop and have somewhat disbanded so I feel like a bastard child of continuing to play their music when ever I can. Here's a link about them if you don't know, now you know.
The Native Tongues
Well I decided too take the advice of friend of mine and do a blog about the adventures in my life. In this blog expect more than just me talking about my boring life, i'll there will be, album reviews, at least one free mp3 a week, sneaker release dates, random music videos, and what to do in Jackson because I am tired of people saying, and I quote, "It ain't nothin to do in this city Jew...", and because I can my take on things and people i'm hating on. So on to the pointless babble....
